My childhood.

I was born in the countryside. There was no electricity until I became a midle school student. My parents were farmers. They were very poor but worked hard and we never starved thanks to their care. My dad made a well by digging up the ground. It took for him monthes. When I came back home from school I had to help my parents in the farming land. We grew rice and many kind of vegetables like peppers, the leaves for cigarettes and the barleys and beans. It was all for making money and we sold most of the agricultural products. My parents send us to school because they couldn't go to school at that time. They wanted us study hard at the school for our future. They used the money for sending us to school. 

In winter, it was snowing a lot. The winter vacation was almost two months. I usually went up the mountain for hunting pheasants, rabbits and some little birds like sparrows. It was a lot of fun to catch them. Especially for the winter vacation, I made a trap for catching rabbits. For the pheasant, I made a hole in the bean and put some poison in the hole and sealed it with melted wax.

 Summer time I went to the stream to catch fish. Sometimes, I was fishing when the water is high in the stream, and when the water is low I went there with the hammer and when I hit a stone inside the water with the hammer the fish under the rock came out dead. At that time, if I caught many fish or animals my mom praised me a lot because we didn't have enough money to buy fish or meat. I remember we could eat the meat like chickin twice a year, on Sulnal and Chusock. But I love the time of my childhood.
